Abstract:
To investigate the careers and creative outputs of three prominent artists of differing ethnic and national orientations (the Czech Smetana, the German Volkmann, and the German-Hungarian Liszt) along such lines of inquiry.

Abstract:
To take immediate advantage of the research momentum gained through my recent investigation by pursuing the most obvious among the many possible avenues for follow-up research - an archival investigation of musical life in late 14th and early 15th-century Brescia, the city which provided the cultural backdrop to the extraordinary artifact that is codex J.II.9.

To investigate indigenous concepts and practices of musical mimesis across selected ethnolinguistic groups in Mindanao (Philippines).
