Project Title:Hong Kong Academic Library Link (HKALL) - Libraries User Initiated Book Delivery Proposal
Investigator(s):Ferguson AW
Department:University Libraries
Source(s) of Funding:Restructuring and Collaboration Fund
Start Date:05/2005
Abstract:
To obtain greater value for money with the resources allocated to the UGC-supported university libraries; to supplement the holdings and capabilities of all participating libraries; to speed up the delivery of requested materials by reducing the amount of intervention by library staff; to allow users who want to access a book already checked out at their library to use a copy available at another library; to lay the foundations for deeper collaboration by enabling participating institutions to acquire library holdings which play to their particular strengths, while also being better equipped to meet common needs.
