To study the profile of enquirers, including their demographic and socioeconomic characteristics, and the types of problem debts they have; to analyze the risk factors contributing to problem debts; to assess the impact of problem debts on the enquirers and their families; to study the effectiveness of the program in helping the enquirers and their families cope with problem debts and minimize the impact of problem debts on the enquirers and their families.

To understand what a woman wants and desires through her account on orgasm - how does she understand, articulate, and represent her experience of orgasm; what kind of language (e.g. medical, social sciences, political, metaphoric poetic, street language, elements of elite discourse, etc.) does she use to articulate her experience in order to illuminate the inadequacy of the Western language of sexually; to understand the relationships between desire and pleasure (possible worlds and actual bodies) - what is sexual pleasure, what is sex and what is pleasure for women; to identify how these Asian women contribute to the construction of alternative ideas of womanhood through their language and strategies of desire; to assess the adequacy and relevance of Western feminist theories for the understanding of the lives of women in East Asia.

To understand the strategies of middle-aged Chinese married women in Hong Kong in their management of their finance and preparation for their retirement (or the lack of) in the context of the new economy and fast social demographic changes of Hong Kong; to explore how they understand the importance of "money in the private chamber" for marred women, the role it plays in their sense of financial security and well-being; to study the consumption, saving and investment pattern of married women, this includes real estate, stocks, funds and other human resource investment; to understand their imagination of life after retirement and what do they think they may need in order to have the life they want when they get old; to understand how they make sense of the impact of demographic changes on their lives - who they have to support and who can support them in their old age; to understand if they have contingency plans should they have to face divorce or other accidents that affect their marriage and family; to identify what they see as the economic stress that they are facing and the greatest problems and difficulties involved in their preparation for retirement; to invite them to make suggestion as to what they think the community and the government can do to provide them with the support they need.

To develop and indigenous home-school cooperation model to promote the mental health of primary and secondary school children with specific learning disabilities and their families through providing them early, theory-driven and evidence-based educational and assessment accommodations (like adjustments in homework format and amount, and adjustments in examination format, modes of responding, and time allowed for completion according to the child's learning difficulties). The specific objectives are three-fold: 1) To develop and implement a theory-driven and evidence-based teacher, parent and child and training package that can ensure early provision of necessary educational and assessment accommodations for such children; to conduct longitudinal and comparison group studies on the impact of these provisions on selected psychosocial functioning of the children, parents and teachers. To develop and indigenous home-school cooperation model to promote the mental health of primary and secondary school children with specific learning disabilities and their families through providing them early, theory-driven and evidence-based educational and assessment accommodations (like adjustments in homework format and amount, and adjustments in examination format, modes of responding, and time allowed for completion according to the child's learning difficulties). The specific objectives are three-fold: 1) To develop and implement a theory-driven and evidence-based teacher, parent and child and training package that can ensure early provision of necessary educational and assessment accommodations for such children; to conduct longitudinal and comparison group studies on the impact of these provisions on selected psychosocial functioning of the children, parents and teachers. Abstract:
To understand and improve on the learning process of students inexperiential based learning; to evaluate the effectiveness of this particular structure of teaching/learning and improve the core components in the skills laboratory; to polish the teaching styles and facilitation skills of the skills laboratory teachers; to develop a teaching package on the range of social work skills essential for practice.
