The HKU seminars on responsible conduct of research (RCR) have been held regularly for staff for the past decade, with more than 3,000 academics having attended the 24 sessions to date.

An international colloquium on hot topics related to citations, impact and international ranking was held at HKU on May 12, 2017 to provide an opportunity for critical discussion of developments, challenges and potential solutions.

Discipline-based Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Seminars: Keynote Lectures

HKU has been holding RCR seminars for academics since 2010, with close to 2,000 participants to date. The three most recent seminars – in May and June, 2016 – were discipline based and included keynote lectures by prominent international speakers.

HKU's Policy on the Management of Research Data and Records, which seeks to promote good practice to support high quality research and academic integrity, was approved by the Senate on May 5, 2015, along with the setting up of a Task Force to plan the implementation of the Policy.

Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Seminars

As part of its promotion of RCR, HKU has been holding seminars since 2010, with more than 1,000 participants to date. Since 2012, attendance of a seminar has been mandatory for new staff, and this requirement is now being extended to existing staff.
