Forum on Strategic Research Themes
A forum for HKU's Strategic Research Themes (SRTs) for 2013-16 was held on May 7, 2014. The SRTs focus development on interdisciplinary research, encompassing 16 strategic research themes and 5 emerging themes under the 5 strategic research areas of Community, Biomedicine, Environment, Frontier Technology and China in the third round of this initiative.
The forum was opened by Professor P.K.H. Tam, Vice-President and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research), followed by presentations by the new theme on Neuroscience and the three new emerging themes of this round, namely Food, Integrative Biology, and Law, Literature, Language. Professor N. Rao and Professor P.Y.S. Cheung, Shepherds of Community and Frontier Technology respectively, gave the closing remarks.
